1.   City Council

The city council is made up of 19 council members who represent the residents of Jacksonville. 

The City Council makes all the laws for the city (the “Congress” of Jacksonville) - thus the reason we need to participate in holding our elected officials accountable for their actions.

2.  Mayor – John Peyton (R). 

The Mayor is the “President” of Jacksonville.  He has many responsibilities, to include passing and failing legislation. 

3.  U.S. Congressman (Florida’s 4th District) – Ander Crenshaw (R).

Congressman Crenshaw represents NE Florida (to include most of Jacksonville).  He represents us in the House of Representatives (part of Congress) which create federal laws.  In other words, if you do not like the way things are going on a national level – he is the man to contact.

4.  U.S. Senator – Mel Martinez (R) and Bill Nelson (D).

Both Senator Martinez and Nelson represent the state of Florida in the Senate (the second part of Congress).  Contact either of these two men if you are not happy with the way things are going on a federal level.

5.  Governor Charlie Crist (R).

             Governor Crist is the "Mayor" or "President" of Florida.
