I was born in Michigan and grew up in Mt. Clemens (a suburb of Detroit) until I was about 18 years old.  After graduating from high school in 2002, I was accepted to Michigan State University.  Like most young college students I flip-flopped my major from nursing to criminal justice.  Also, like most young college students, I partied a little too much and it eventually led me to joining the United States Marine Corps in 2004.  This by far was one of the greatest decisions I ever made in my life.  In 2005, I would meet a beautiful woman who would later become my wife.  After being honorably discharged in 2007, I moved to Jacksonville, Florida and I currently attend the Florida Community College at Jacksonville.  This fall, I will be a student at the University of North Florida with a major in Political Science.  I currently live with my wonderful wife and my insane, yet adorable, Jack Russell Terrier – Bella.

I absolutely love politics and I also love to think.  I love to read and learn as much as I can.  Since 2006, I have read over 400 books (I keep a list).  I mainly read political books, but I also enjoy a New York Times bestseller every now and then.

I am neither a Republican nor Democrat.  In fact, I do not even believe in groups.  I feel that no group or organization can fully represent my political or moral views.  Both parties have failed Americans in every way over the past hundred years or so, and continue to do so with no end in sight.  As long as Americans fail to realize the importance of local government, the federal deficit will continue to increase and Americans will continue to lose jobs to other countries.

I also firmly believe in education.  I believe that through education, we can build a better America.  We can build individuals who can think for themselves by thinking critically on a broad range of topics.  Remember, no one is ever right.  Not one person can prove without a doubt that their view is correct.  We only believe what we are told to believe or what we come to believe as real.  I have been wrong constantly throughout my life, and I will continue to make mistakes until my dying day.  The key, however, is to learn from those mistakes and to try again (remembering the mistakes you made and by making new decisions).

Lastly, as you read my articles and opinions you will learn that I am an extremely cynical individual.  While I am entirely optimistic when it comes to my individual life, I am the definition of cynical – “contemptuously distrustful of human nature and motives…based on or reflecting a belief that human conduct is motivated primarily by self-interest.”  As I watch television, walk in a supermarket, or review Congress’ inactions, I continue to see a society full of self-interest.  People continue, as they have since the genesis of mankind, to put themselves before others.  However, this is just my opinion; it is based solely on my life time experiences.  In fact, I truly wish I could be a liberal.  I wish that everyone could be “equal” and “wealthy.”  I truly, without a doubt, wish that war would never be part of any equation.  However, because I am cynical, I will continue to believe that true liberalism could never occur – at least not for longer than 5 minutes when someone says “Why can’t I have that!” or "But that's not fair!"

Regardless of my opinions, the news I present are real articles, from real sources.  However, as we have learned from the Iraq War (how a majority of Americans acted on emotions caused by the September 11 attacks) – remember to question everything you read and know that everything you read is not necessarily true – I mean people have to make money right?  You don’t think the news is free do you?

Oh, by the way, “fair and balanced” news is non-existent – everyone has a reason for what they do and say.  Just remember – think critically and openly.  Ask around and learn as much as you can.  I will end my tangent with these words:

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit” (Aristotle).

Once again, I thank you for viewing my website.
